Use STOP School Violence Grant Funding to Boost the Culture of Safety in Your Schools
The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) STOP School Violence Grant Program is designed to improve school security by providing students and teachers with the tools they need to recognize, respond to and prevent acts of violence.
The Student, Teachers and Officers Preventing School Violence Act (or STOP School Violence Act) of 2018 outlines the following categories for school safety projects:
Training to prevent student violence against others and self, including training for local law enforcement officers, school personnel and students.
The development and operation of anonymous tip-reporting systems to identify threats of school violence – can include mobile telephone applications, hotlines and Internet websites.
The development and deployment of school threat assessment and intervention teams that coordinate with law enforcement agencies and school personnel.
